Trim Options

The Hybrid LE is the base trim and the cheapest. You'll find an eight-inch touchscreen inside, three USB ports, and a stereo system with six speakers. Heated mirrors, a push button start, five USB ports, and even more safety features make the Hybrid XLE stand out. Other RAV 4 trims you can choose from include:

• Hybrid SE: Sport suspension, ambient lighting, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 18-inch black wheels
• Hybrid XLE Premium: fog lights, synthetic leather seating, a power liftgate, and a sunroof
• Hybrid XSE: a 10.5-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, auto-dimming mirror, and a two-tone paint job
• Hybrid Limited: 11 speakers, JBL audio system, parking sensors, and heated and ventilated seats
• Hybrid Woodland: off-road suspension, Woodland badges, and all-terrain tires

Performance

Toyota equipped the RAV 4 Hybrid with a standard 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, a variable transmission, and a combo of two electric motors. You'll also find that all hybrids are AWD models that produce 219 horsepower. The RAV 4 goes from a complete stop to 60 mph in less than eight seconds. The included 18.1kWh battery gives you an electric driving range of 42 miles. Stick to the gas engine and get a combined 40 mpg. It takes 12 hours or less to charge the battery based on the charger you use. Choose the Woodland Edition to get a hybrid with an off-road suspension system.

Interior

Though the interior of the RAV 4 Hybrid is fairly basic, it's quite spacious for an SUV of its size. Toyota added even more cubbies and storage options to ensure you never run out of space. We love that Toyota offers optional upgrades like heated seats and a panoramic glass roof.

Technology

You can find your way with the eight-inch touchscreen inside the RAV 4 Hybrid. Toyota added a bigger screen to the higher trims, but each works with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth. You get either a seven-inch digital cluster gauge or a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. Every RAV 4 Hybrid includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, too. Its technology also applies to some of its top safety features, including emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-keeping assist.

Cargo Room

The hybrid has less cargo room than the standard RAV 4 but still gives you more than 37 cubic feet of space behind the backseat. If you don't need the seat, you can fold it and gain over 30 cubic feet.
