"CARS" (Car Allowance Rebate System), also known as "Cash for Clunkers", or "Cash for Guzzlers" is a Government program operated by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) to offer U.S. drivers an incentive to purchase a new, more fuel-efficient, vehicle. One Million Hybrids

Yesterday Toyota announced they have surpassed the one million mark for Hybrid vehicle sales in the United States. What is so staggering about that number, though, is just how fast it happened. The Prius was originally introduced to the U.S. in 2000, and between 2000 and 2007 Toyota sold 500,000 hybrid vehicles. In just two short years since, Toyota doubled that number to sell over one million hybrids.

2010 Toyota Prius EPA

Toyota has some great news for those city drivers out there looking to get their hands on a new Prius, the best selling hybrid out there. With the revised EPA MPG you can now expect to be getting 51 MPG in the city, though the freeway is now at 48 you can still expect a combined rating of 50 MPG. Not too bad!
